BANDHAVGARH

Bandhavgarh National Park  ( Devanagari : बांधवगढ राष्ट्रीय उद्दान) is one of the popular  national parks  in  India  located in the  Umaria  district of  Madhya Pradesh . Bandhavgarh was declared a  national park  in 1968, with an area of 105 km 2 . The buffer is spread over the forest divisions of Umaria and Katni and totals 820 km 2 . The park derives its name from the most prominent  hillock  of the area, which was said to be given by  Hindu  Lord  Rama  to his brother  Lakshmana  to keep a watch on  Lanka  (Ceylon). Hence the name  Bandhavgarh  ( Sanskrit : Brother's Fort). This park has a large  biodiversity . The density of the  tiger  population at Bandhavgarh is one of the highest known in India. Kanha Tiger Reserve , also called  Kanha National Park , is one of the  tiger reserves of India  and the largest  national park  of  Madhya Pradesh , state in the heart of India. The present-day Kanha area was divided into two sanctuaries, Hallon and Banjar, of 250 and 300 km 2  respectively. Kanha National Park was created on 1 June 1955 and in 1973 was made the Kanha Tiger Reserve. Today it stretches over an area of 940 km 2  in the two districts  Mandla  and  Balaghat . Together with a surrounding buffer zone of 1,067 km 2  and the neighboring 110 km 2  Phen Sanctuary it forms the Kanha Tiger Reserve. PACHMARHI

Pachmarhi is the one and only hill station in Madhya Pradesh state of central  India , also known for the Pachmarhi Cantonment. It is widely known as "Satpura ki Rani" (Queen of Satpura), situated at a height of 1000 m in a valley of the  Satpura Range  in Hoshangabad district. The highest point in the central  India  region and the Vindhya and Satpura range; Dhupgarh at 1100 m is located here. The town is not very large, and most of its area is under the administration of the Pachmarhi Cantonment Board, serving the Indian Army. The population of Pachmarhi is about 10,000 persons, most of whom are connected with the Army installations in the area. The civilian portion of the town is small, and lies to wards the tip of a lake. It has some hotels and a movie hall. A bazaar runs through the small town.
